Comments: We flew to Kathmandu from New Dehli January 24, 2009 after we finished a two week Tour of India. Our Tour of India was somewhat disappointing primarily because we did notcare for our guide . Because we were the only ones on the tour with just a driver and guide, the two weeks at times, seemed never to be coming to an end. What a nice surprisewhen we were met at Kathmandu airport by the friendly smiling faces of Gyan Karki and his driver Icci. They treated us “old codgers” with respect and both had impeccablemanners always hastening to open the car doors for us.

We had four days in Kathmandu and surrounding towns that were just packed full of interesting sights. The Buddist Shrine Swyambhunath , Durbar square, were justsome of the many special places visited in Kathmandu. Patan City and Bhaktapur Cityoutside Kathmandu showed us another side to Nepal. One special interest for us wasour visit to the crematorium and the exciting flight over Mount Everest.

Gyan treated us like royalty even bringing us home to his house to meet his wonderful wife Anita and two sons. We had the wonderful comfort in driving around in a roomy well kept 1972 Mercedes car. Icci was a good safe driver.

We stayed at the Hotel Shanker which at one time was a palace. Our accommodation

was very comfortable and the meals appealing. It is a beautiful hotel with lovely grounds and swimming pool. Close enough to walk to shopping in our free time or take a rickshaw ride with the friendly driver who is always posted out by the gates to the Shanker hotel.

We would certainly recommend that if you are planning to visit Nepal you arrange a tour with Gyan through Aventure Treks Nepal (P.) Ltd. Our son-law referred him to us and our daughter is planned to book him for her trip to Nepal in October 09. You will have a memorable time.

We plan to return some day ,

Yous Sincerely,

George and Beryl Starke

Comments: When I looked into booking a trip to Nepal recently I was confronted with many agencies offering their expertise. When ‘Lonely Planet’ gave ‘Adventure Treks Nepal’ a recommendation I thought that was enough for me and they were correct.

Gyan would always reply to my emails quickly and efficiently no matter what the question was. Upon arrival everything was taken care of. The trek was wonderful and our guide and porter were much more than just that they became our friends.

I would have no hesitation in recommending ‘Adventure Treks Nepal’ they made our trip into much more than just a holiday. From the driver, guides, all the accommodation even the special dinner at the end were wonderful. Thank you for a great time.
I would be happy to answer any questions regarding this company.

Comments: “Gyan, you and your team made your outmost to give us the absolute best of Nepal in a very professional manner; Kathmandu, River rafting, Chitwan National park, Pokhara, trekking and more.... We are so happy and grateful!!

Gyanendra is really a marvelous guide, both in Kathmandu and in Jomson where he took us on a trek up to Muktinath that we will never forget. His skills in nature, tradition and religion made our journey a very interesting and learning time. Besides his knowledge he is a very nice and warm person, always putting the wellness of the client first. We always felt very safe and relaxed with his leadership.

Our warmest thanks for everything you did for us. We had a wonderful time in Nepal!

Comments: Gyanendra was introduced to us by a very good friend of ours who strongly recommended Gyanendra as a very good trekking guide. We were not clear then if Gyanendra or his agency could provide equally good sightseeing schedules. After exchanges of emails we decided to use them as our agency in Nepal.

Our trip to Nepal in April was very enjoyable. The trip was tougher than we expected. We experienced some unique situation like regional strikes. We were able to prevent all potential delays/obstables because of the advance and quick readjustments of Gyanendra. He was well aware of the local situation and provided us with the best of services.

We found their assistance very helpful and we planned to use them again in our next trip to Buttan/Shikim.

We believe Gyanendra and his agency could be very helpful in planning trip to their area. Because of the range of activities available, detail requirements should be well communicated in advance to ensure the best arrangement.

(Glimpse of Everest Trekking ) March 23-30. 2009.

Comments: The decision to have our trek with Adventure Treks Nepal was the best choice without any doubt. We had “Glimpse of Everest Trekking” with Tengboche ( 3867 m) as the highest point, but when we were strong enough we’ve got a proposal to walk even higher and we’ve reached Dingboche with its 4410 m!

Everything was organized perfectly from the beginning to the end. We’d start from e-mailing and were surprised with the quick answers from Gyan. He’d arranged everything for us and when we’d come to Nepal we had a meeting with him and our guide Gyanendra.

We ‘d started our trek on the next day from the flight to Lukla and trek to Jorsalle.

On the second day we’d reached Namche Bazaar and we must tell that the acclimatization was perfectly done there. After the one day of weakness in Namche on the next day we were walking like the mountain goats as our guide had promised earlier.

During the trek we had three meals - breakfast, lunch and dinner, which we were able to chose ourselves from the menu. And after each dinner we were given fruits prepared by our guide - could you imagine- he’d even brought it into my room when I was a little bit sick!!!

Our trek was simply perfect with its stunning views and very good accommodation - as always as it was possible our guide has organized for us a room with a bathroom which was not extra paid.

Our guide and porter were so nice and helpful people, so it was real pleasure to spend with them those days.

The whole trek was an amazing experience . We dream about coming back to Nepal and to Himalayas and we are sure to have the next trek with Gyan and his Adventure Treks Nepal!

Thank You,
Ania & Krzysztof

Stamtąd pomaszerowaliśmy aż do Jorsalle.

Podczas trekkingu mieliśmy trzy posiłki - śniadanie, lunch i kolację, dania mogliśmy sami wybierać z menu.

Comments: Me and two friends took the Everest Base Camp trek on the 6th of June as our summer holidays/jobs didnt allow us to go for the August option. We were a little worried before hand about if the monsoon would be coming in and if we would have any views of everest at all as we had heard conflicting reports about the weather in the begining of June. Anyway, we booked the trip with ease and got lots of interesting and useful information off Adventure Treks Nepal before our arrival. At kathmandu we were promplty picked up at the airport in what must be said as the most amazing 1970's mercedes there ever was and dropped off at our hotel. The next day we were given a great city tour of Kathmandu which served as a great opertunity to meet our guide for the next two weeks, Gyanendra. The tour was great and well planned. The next day we flew out to Lukla after a slight delay at the airport due to bad weather. After we touched down we had amazing views over the entire valley and started our climb to our first overnight stop. The next day was the trek to Namche, now this was tough. Very steep in some parts and a little uncomfortable if the weather is warm but the good thing was that it didnt take too long, it was only a short 3 hour climb. After a rest day in Namche we climbed up to our next acclimatising stop in Dingboche over the next few days. Here we climbed a "hill" on our rest day which was to introduce us to the effects of altitude and to allow us to aclimatise better. This was where i felt the effects of the thinner atmosphere the most. Basically I found it hard to walk more than 10 minutes without having to sit down. I felt sick and had a headache throughout the climb but it was worth it as it then allowed me to climb to out next stop over point, Lobuche, without any diffculty at all. Here we were truley in the mountains, as all around you were peaks of more than 25000ft right next to you. You felt dawarfed amongst them. The weather had also dramatically picked up, the sky was crystal clear and not too cold either (I was walking in a t-shirt most of the time). The next day was a toughy though. We hiked to Gorak Shep then went straight up Kallar Pathar (the highest point we go, 20000ft) for some fantastic views of Everest and the surrounding mountains. The weather was perfect and we couldnt of got luckier. The climb up Kallar Pathar was probably the hardest part of the whole trek though, as even though youve acclimatised its still difficult to get enough air into your lungs to make any worthwhile progress up the mountainside, so your always struggling to push on even though your body is screaming out for a break. Its definatly worth it though as its a view Im never going to forget. I mean im not one of those people who like to "push themselves to the limit", I like my comforts. But the sense of accomplishment on reaching that peak (i say its a peak but its tiny in comparison to the other mountains) is enormous. It was truely such an achievment. After that we went to the base camp itself. It wasnt really what i was expecting. Theres nothing there, not even a sign or something. It was great to get there but If anyone has to make a decision between base camp or Kallar Pathar, perhaps due to weather or illness or something, you should definatly choose Kallar Pathar. Without question. Anyway, that night one of my friends got quite ill with altitude sickness. Thankfully our guide Gyanendre was extreamly helpfull and prescribed some Diamox (they have a plentiful supply up there in the mountains) and some garlic soup, which seemed to do the job nicley. On the way down we decided to save time we would do a massive 30k to take us down to Namche in one day. Which, by the way, on the way up took us 6 days. That was tiring, as its not all downhill, the trail is very mixed with lots of ups and downs throughout. We made it however, all blistered and bruised. But we had our first shower in 9 days which made it all worthwhile! After that it was a short walk to Lukla where we stayed a night in relative comfort (they even have a fake starbucks!) then flew back to Kathmandu where we were treated to a fantastic complimentarry meal by our company with Gyanendre. It truely was an amazing experience which i would recomend to anyone, without a doubt. You dont need to be super fit, im not, and you dont need to be a crazy keen mountaineerer or hiker,im not. It probalbly helps, but its not nesessary. What you do need though is the determination and to have the physical will power to get you up there. Its not easy in some places and things invairably will not go to plan. Youll get sick (on that note, avoid ALL meat during your trip) and youll get grumpy but all of that pales into comparison to the elation youll feel when you finally make it, and you will make it. It will be fantastic and sometrhing which you'll never, ever forget.

Hats off to everybody who made our trip so special, especially to our guide Gyanendre who was simply amazing. Great fun and always smiling. All the best and enjoy your trip."

Trekking in Nepal with Adventure Treks Nepal was, from day one, an experience I absolutely recommend!! Just after I landed in Kathmandu, Gyan was expecting me with his great Mercedes and a flower necklace! Since I was traveling alone and booked all my trip through the internet, I was a little suspicious of what I would get, but after this warm welcome and talking a bit with Gyan, I was sure I picked the right guys!

Gyan took me to the hotel and explained everything I needed to know. He then introduced to my guide, Gyanendra, with whom I would spend the rest of the week.

The trek itself, although short because I only had one week, was great!! Great views, great people!! That’s the Himalaya you would get with any agency. However, not every agency has Gyanendra!!! He is definitely a great guide!! Since the beginning he was always very interested in explaining things about the places we were and he knows a lot about everything. A very professional guide. Since I was alone, we had the opportunity to talk along the trek and Gyanendra is a really good trek buddy. He his always willing to help and always worried if everything is ok. In our way back, we got stuck in Luckla because of the bad weather and Gyanendra did everything he could to make sure I was comfortable and made sure we were on the first flight to Kathmandu.

In the last day Gyanendra guided me to some sightseeing in Katmandu, which he did despite having some personal urgent problems to solve. He is really a good person, very humble and professional.

In the end, Gyan took me to the airport and I had the opportunity to confirm what a good person he also is.

I’m sure Gyan has the right mindset to run this agency since he is always very interested in saying the truth to the customers and making sure everybody feels great.

If I ever come back to Nepal, I would definitely go with these guys!!! I wish them the best!

Namaste!
