Romantic Kerala
Day 01: Trivandrum
Arrival at Trivandrum and transfer to a Beach Resort near Kovalam "Cormorant Cove". A Honeymooners Paradise at Kovalam located in between the beach and backwater. Flower arrangements and a complimentary Fruit Basket at your room.

Day 02: Trivandrum
Trip to Cape Comorine (Kanyakumari) The lands end of India enroute to visit admanabhapuram Palace and back to Resort for overnight.

08.00 a.m Start from your hotel by car to Alleppey (Venice of the East) . A rustic backwater town of Kerala to board your Houseboat. Once rice carrier turned to be a house to see the rural and natural village life of Kerala. Take the journey through the narrow canals to get a beautiful landscape sightseeing and browse the rural life, Snake boats, local fishing, Chinese Fishing, Kuttanad (Paddy fields- The rice bowl of Kerala), Churches, Temples etc... Your boat will anchor near the Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary for the overnight sleep on board. On Day04, 10.00 a.m check out from boat after the breakfast and bird watch.

Day 04: Alleppey/Munnar
Move to Munnar Hill Station; literally meaning three rivers, is situated on the confluence of three rivers. The average altitude is over 4000 feet above sea level. This quiet little tea town boasts of many colonial bungalows, tea factories, wild life sanctuaries and many lakes. Among the exotic floral found in the forests and grasslands here is the Neelakurinji. This flower, which bathes the hills in blue, once in every twelve years (The next bloom is expected in 2006 A.D only). Morning After an early breakfast, a 4-hour jungle trek, returning for lunch to the Resort. Afternoon A two-hour boat ride at the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary. During the Boat ride on Lake Periyar, spot the wild Indian Gaur, monkeys, spotted deer, barking deer, wild boar and birds of myriad varietiest. With an area of 77 Sanctuary lies at an elevation of 914 mts. Above sea level in the hills of the Western Ghats.

Day 01: Arrive Chennai
Hotel check-in is at 12.00 noon. Assistance on arrival by our representative and transfer to the hotel.

Day 02: Chennai/Bangalore
Early this morning transfer to the Railway Station in time for the train to Bangalore. Bangalore is well for its software industry and draught-beer.

Day 03: Bangalore/Hassan
Morning a short drive through Bangalore city and then drive on to Hassan, From where we will venture out to see some of the most strikingly beautiful temple sculptures of India. In the afternoon we visit Belur, a quaint hamlet on the banks of the Yagachi River, and once the capital of the Hoysala Empire.

Day 04: Hassan/Mysore
In the morning we visit Halebid with its 12th century Hoysaleswara Temple. In the afternoon we drive to Mysore, and on arrival, check-in at hotel.

Day 05: Mysore/Ooty
Mysore is one of the finest cities of south India with tree-lined boulevards, beautiful gardens and stately buildings. In the afternoon we drive up to Ooty, (2268 meters) "Queen of Hill Stations", which still has the lingering flavor of the British Raj.

Day 06: Ooty
This morning we visit the Botanical Gardens, the Ooty Lake and to Doddabatta, the highest hill of the Nilgiris, from here one can have the beautiful view of the surrounding mountains.

Day 07: Ooty/Mysore/Chennai
We return to Mysore this morning in time to board the train to Chennai. Assistance on arrival and transfer to hotel.

Day 08: Chennai/Kanchipuram/Mahabalipuram/Chennai
Today we visit Kanchipuram, famous for its brilliant Kanjivaram silk sarees. Continue onto Mahabalipuram. Evening return to Chennai.

Day 09: Chennai/Departure
Hotel checkout is 12.00 noon late evening transfer to the airport in time to board your onward flight from India.

Day 01: Chennai
Full day city tour of Chennai including the Snake park and Kaapaleswara temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and the museum.

Day 02: Chennai/Mahaballipuram
Morning visit the Dravidian style culture temples at Mahaballipuram, the shore temple and the monolithic sculpture of the ancient India. After lunch a visit to the village and later relax on the beach.

Day 03: Mahaballipuram/Kanchipuram/Pondichery
Reach Kanchipuram by lunch time and after visiting the famous temples and the silk weaving centre. After lunch leave for Pondichery by road. In ancient India Kanchipuram was referred to as "the golden girdle".

Day 04: Pondichery
Morning visit the Sri Aurobindo's Ashram (a meditation centre) and city tour of the once French colony. Post lunch tour of Auroville (an international city with inhabitants from all over the world) and visit the Mata Mandir meditation centre.

Day 05: Pondichery/Chidambaram
After breakfast leave for Chidambaram, known as the city of "The Cosmic Dancer", Lord Shiva. Full day visit of the religious city of Chidambaram.

Day 06: Chidambaram/Tanjore
After breakfast depart for Tanjore enroute visiting the temple at Gangaikondacholapuram built in 1220 A.D.

Day 07: Tanjore/Thiruchirapalli
Morning visit the Brihadeshwara temple, a typical South Indian architecture from the 11th century, the Saraswati Mahal Library. After lunch depart for Thiruchirapalli. Upon arrival visit the Srirangam Temple and the Rock Fort.

Day 08: Thiruchirapalli/Madurai
Morning drive to Madurai and reach by noon at Madurai. After lunch visit the world famous Meenakshi Sundareswara Temple, a huge dravidian civilization temple complex.

Day 09: Madurai/Periyar
Depart in the morning for Periyar Wild Life Sanctuary (135 kms). Afternoon boat cruise on the lake to get a closer look at the wild elephants.

Day 10: Periyar/Cochin
Drive to Cochin via Kumarokom and lunch at the resort. The Malabar cuisine is one of the best in the world for seafood and spices. Visit the Dutch palace and the Chinese fishing nets in the backwaters of Cochin.

Day 11: Cochin/Allepey
One hour drive to reach the small beautiful town of Allepey situated on the backwaters of Kerala.

Day 12: Allepey/Trivandrum
Morning boat cruise on the backwaters of Kerala (three hours on the boat) and then continue by road to Trivandrum for lunch. After lunch visit the Napier museum and the world-renowned Padmanabhaswamy temple and later proceed to the beach resort at Kovalam.

Day 13: Trivandrum/Mumbai
Morning free at the beach or time for an ancient Indian herbal massage by expert masseurs. After lunch transfer to the airport to connect flight to Mumbai.

Guided tour to the famous Padmanabhapuram Palace - India's largest wooden palace! With intrinsic carvings and wonderful woodwork. Sucheendram Temple which has an emporium of art treasure from various periods in history, and finally to the tip of India to worship the Rock Temple with natures fading Sunlight - Sunset. Back to the hotel in Kovalam.

Day 03: Kovalam/Kumarakom
11 a.m. your hose boat is ready to take you off from front of your home. The water -web slowly opens up its secrets to you, lush paddy fields, pregnant palms, singing Siberian ducks and the ancestral music of the fishermen. As the sunsets drop anchor at Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary and enjoy your dinner on board.

Day 04: Kumarakom/Thekkady
Wake up to the calm of the backwaters and after a leisurely Bird watch, enjoy breakfast on board and the boat disembark at the boat jetty, Proceed to Thekkady to check-in a charming resort. The thatched cottages and rooms furnished with lovely antiques, set in the midst of fragrant spice plants and with the added facility of a lovely swimming pool to relax in, makes this resort special.

Day 05: Thekkady
Morning after an early breakfast at the resort, proceed for a guided tour of Spice Country. Visit Cardamom and Pepper plantation, Tribal village deep inside the forest gives you a close - quarter insight in to the curious ways of Neolithic life. Lunch is at the Lake Palace, which is a lovely old palace set on an island in the middle of the Periyar lake and wildlife sanctuary. In the evening take the boat cruise to view the herds of Elephants and other wildlife on the banks of the Periyar reservoir. Return to the resort for dinner.

Day 06: Thekkady/Munnar
Morning boat ride to watch wildlife and after breakfast from the hotel moving to Munnar through the gurgling streams, low flying clouds and mist filled valleys with tea plants, now we are at an altitude of 1524 meter. Here you can see the endangered Nilagiri Thar that roams on a stretch of grasslands or sighting a Guar, Languor, Lion tailed Masque and Sambar is not uncommon. Day 07: Munnar
After an early breakfast climbing down the hills by road to Malappuram stay at MALABAR HERITARESO KOKKUR; Primitive village farmhouse in the midst of coconut trees, fruit plants, spice and paddy fields-single house in one Sq. Km area with 150 years old traditions. In this heritage home you can enjoy Food in Arecanut palm leaf, Coconut shell spoon, Clay pots, Kerosene Ranthal lights, and Bicycle for village ride.

Day 08: Munnar

Today is a cultural day for you, you can watch and research some cultural programs like KOLKALI, PULLUVAN PATTU, and VEENAPATTU of Kerala by visiting KERALA KALAMANDALAM School of Traditional Arts for the traditional dancing forms Mohiniyattom, Bharathanatyam, Kuchippudi, Kathakali, Koodiyattom,Thayambaka etc...

Day 10: Munnar/Cochin
Early morning, after breakfast we say good by to the Malappuram family and heading towards Cochin. On the way at Trichur we see THE BIG ELEPHANT HOUSE with more than 40 elephants, which are the property of one of the most famous and richest temples of Kerala THE LORD KRISHNA TEMPLE GURUVAYOOR and GRANITE CARVING PLACE where the Idols were getting birth. By tea time we reach Cochin and stay at a beautiful renovated colonial style house located in Fort Cochin "Queen of Arabian Sea".

Day 11: Cochin
After breakfast go on a local sightseeing tour The Jewish Synagogue built in 1568 A.D, the ravishing Dutch Palace and the fascinating Chinese nets. Browse through the spice trading centers, numerous antique shops. After sunset you can witness "Kathakali" the classical dance form of Kerala. Dinner at a Sea food specialty restaurant.

Day 12: Cochin/Kovalam
Back to Kovalam transfer is optional by Road/Train. From Thiruvallom our country boat will take you to our own Eco-friendly beach resort near Kovalam which is set amidst of the green lagoons and blue Arabian sea, a peace of land with golden sands. Rest of the days is at leisure to enjoy the sun and the surf.
